This is a charming event held in the grounds of a 15th Century monastery. There’s much to offer for spectators and reenactors alike. There is an entrance fee, but the festival lacks the commercial atmosphere of some events and is treated by many reenactors as a last chance to meet up before the winter.
See the Middeleeuws Ter Apel website for full details. The photo at the top of the page is from the Monastery’s website.
This is one of Sir Hawkins and the Dutchess’ favourite events. It has a really special atmosphere.
Please note Hawkins’ Historical Happenings play no part in the organisation of the event, we’re just letting people know it’s happening. It you don’t want your event publicised or photos used please contact us.
